This holiday season, 50,000 SM Bears of Joy were donated by mall goers in Bataan to children in underserved communities in partnership with Toy Kingdom.

It has been an annual initiative of SM Cares, the SM Bears of Joy campaign to empower shoppers to spread holiday cheers by purchasing a pair of especially designed plush- bears- one to keep and another to share.

Ms. Paula Gayeta, SM Public Relations Officer said that this year’s theme, “Hug-a- Mood” introduces four charming bears, Mikah- the Curious Explorer; Ash- the gentle and Shy Friend; Bree- the Spirited Adventurer and Ronnie- the Creative dreamer, of which Gayeta added that each bear bring its own personality symbolizing the warmth and joy of the season.

One of the beneficiaries of said bears of joy are the children at the Pediatric Ward of the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center, as well as different communities and barangays of the province.

SM Cares is the Corporate Social Responsibility arm of SM Super Malls supporting initiatives focused on communities and environment.
